Imperial Challengers Bangalore wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel has said that the group's system for the last bundle of Sunday's match was to urge Dhoni to hit through the off-side, as the limit is shorter on that side. 

With Chennai Super Rulers requiring two races to win off the last ball and commander MS Dhoni protesting, Umesh Yadav bowled through the off-side, with Dhoni swinging and shockingly missing the ball out and out. 

"We needed Dhoni to hit through the off-side which was the shorter side of the ground," Patel said at the post coordinate question and answer session.
